Since 1994, Guarango has combined creative craft, advanced technology and deep cultural knowledge to help filmmakers and organisations create ambitious audiovisual projects with global impact.
Guarango is a filmmaker-led independent organisation based in Lima, Peru. Since 1994, we have produced, post-produced and restored independent films, documentaries and audiovisual projects that travel from Latin America to international festivals, broadcasters and platforms. We understand independent cinema from the inside — as producers, directors and technicians — and we bring that knowledge to every project we work on.
Our milestones include producing the first DCP of a Peruvian film, operating the only Blackmagic Cintel 4K HDR scanner in the service of Peruvian cinema, and innovation projects recognised by ProInnóvate Peru. For over 30 years we have worked with filmmakers, archives, cinematheques and cultural institutions across Latin America and the world.
We combine international technical standards with the care of a filmmaker-led organisation. Producers, directors and directors of photography can collaborate with us remotely or in-person, with real-time creative collaboration between Europe and Latin America.

Founded as a non-profit organisation in 1994, Guarango sustains its socially engaged filmmaking, audiovisual preservation and cultural mission through specialised production services. Every project we undertake helps strengthen independent cinema and safeguard Peru’s audiovisual and cultural heritage.

FACILITIES & EXPERTISE
Our Lima studio provides professional post-production, colour grading, SDR/HDR workflows, DCP and IMF mastering, 4K HDR film scanning, digital restoration and delivery for cinemas, broadcasters, streaming platforms and audiovisual archives.
We also provide ethical language and speech data services for AI, language technologies and research, specialising in authentic Quechua, Andean Spanish and Indigenous voices.
