Ernesto, known as Tito, is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and co-founder of Guarango, a pioneering non-profit organisation established in Peru in 1994 with Swiss producer Stefan Kaspar.Over the past three decades, he has directed and produced internationally acclaimed documentaries that have brought Latin American stories to audiences worldwide.He teaches Filmmaking at the University of Sussex, where his ongoing professional practice informs his teaching and scholarship, connecting filmmaking and social impact.

Head of Post-Production & Restoration
Fabricio has over twenty years of experience in audiovisual post-production. He oversees finishing, mastering and restoration, ensuring every film reaches its highest technical standard.His work includes productions screened at international film festivals and released on platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video and ViX.At Guarango, he combines technical expertise, patience and an unwavering commitment to quality, helping every story reach the screen as it was envisioned.

ADMINISTRATOR
Ana leads Guarango’s administration and financial management. From contracts and budgeting to coordinating administrative processes, her work ensures that every project moves forward with efficiency, transparency and sound organisation. With extensive experience in the non-profit sector, she brings rigour, accountability and the organisational expertise that allows the rest of the team to focus on what they do best: telling stories that connect.
JULIA GAMARRA
PRODUCER
Julia is a social communicator graduated from the National University of San Marcos and a producer with experience in documentaries, feature films and commissioned productions. She has collaborated with international teams in the development and production of a wide range of projects. She has a particular interest in film distribution and is a member of the Peruvian Laboratory of Cinema and Performing Arts (LABPCA). In addition to her production work, she teaches at university level, sharing her experience with the next generation of audiovisual professionals.
MALÚ CABELLOS DAMIÁN
DIRECTOR - PHOTOGRAPHER
Malú is a visual artist, documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work explores memory, place and cultural identities through photography, installation and film. Trained in Social Sciences and Photography, she combines research with creative practice to develop award-winning documentaries and visual projects presented at international festivals and exhibitions. At Guarango, she brings together art, documentary filmmaking and research to create stories that connect.
JUAN CARLOS ZAVALETA TELLO
Post-Production Supervisor
Juan Carlos is an editor and film finishing specialist with over 20 years of experience in post-production. He holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and an MA in Creative Documentary from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. At Guarango, he has contributed to the finishing, mastering and restoration of more than 50 feature and short films. Trained alongside Ricardo Cabellos, he combines editorial sensitivity with the technical expertise to prepare films for cinemas, streaming platforms and preservation.
RODRIGO BAUTISTA
COLOURIST
Rodrigo is a cinematographer, colourist and camera technician. A graduate of the Cinematography programme at the ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya), he has built his career across both film production and post-production.Passionate about cinema and photochemical photography in all its forms, he has worked as a freelance professional on fiction films, commercials and fashion films, taking on roles in camera, lighting, cinematography and colour grading. Previously, he worked as an colourist and mastering technician at Moonlight Cinema in Barcelona.

ASISTENTE ADMINISTRATIVO
Juan Pablo es asistente de administración y logística en Guarango. Su trabajo da soporte a las operaciones del estudio y a los equipos de producción y postproducción, coordinando recursos, equipamiento, viajes, envíos y procesos administrativos para que cada proyecto avance sin contratiempos. Su formación en Administración y su atención al detalle hacen de él una pieza clave en el funcionamiento cotidiano de Guarango.

Núria is a filmmaker, producer and communications strategist for social impact. Spanish-Peruvian, she brings together more than twenty years of experience in filmmaking and impact campaigns for international organisations such as Amnesty International and the United Nations. As producer of Daughter of the Lake and director of The Song of the Butterflies, she creates stories that explore identity, memory and diversity. She lives between Catalonia and Peru and is also an actress.
JORGE SABANA
COLOURIST
Jorge, also known as “Manito”, is a colourist and film finishing specialist. A Communications graduate from the University of Lima, he brings more than twenty years of experience in editing, colour grading and audiovisual post-production. He has graded numerous Peruvian feature films and is highly experienced in every stage of the finishing workflow for cinema and streaming platforms. Outside the studio, he pursues his passion for music as the bassist of the rock band Terreviento.
GUSTAVO HERRERA TOLEDO
Film Restoration & Scanning Specialist
Gustavo is an editor, post-production specialist and film restoration expert. A graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), he has more than 20 years of experience in editing, post-production and audiovisual preservation. At Guarango, he contributes to film scanning, digital restoration and the management of the digital archive. Specialised in audiovisual preservation through international training programmes, he actively contributes to the recovery of Latin America’s cinematic heritage.
ILLARY VÁSQUEZ JIMÉNEZ
PRODUCER
Illary is a Peruvian-Chilean producer and audiovisual communicator. She has worked across film, television and cultural projects in Peru, Chile and Spain, collaborating with public institutions, cultural organisations and international partners. After completing a Master’s in Executive Film and Television Production at ECAM (Madrid), she continues to develop international audiovisual and cultural projects as an independent producer from Spain.
